AO/SBR
Overview
The AO (Anoxic-Oxic) and SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) processes are widely used biological wastewater treatment technologies designed for efficient organic pollutant removal and nutrient reduction. AO systems provide continuous treatment with effective nitrogen removal, while SBR systems integrate equalization, aeration, settling, and discharge in a single reactor.

Working Principle
AO Process
Wastewater passes through an anoxic zone for denitrification and then an aerobic zone for organic degradation and nitrification.
SBR Process
Treatment occurs in sequential stages within one tank: Fill → React → Settle → Decant → Idle. This simplifies plant layout and operation.
